Former Portage girls basketball head coach Ed Zydowsky, right, watches his team run through a practice along with former Portage assistant coach Joann Armson. Zydowsky is being inducted in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame on Saturday. In 15 seasons coaching girls basketball at Portage, Zydowsky finished with a career record of 302-49. Zydowsky’s Portage teams won nine conference titles, 13 regional titles and had six state tournament appearances. In 1982, Zydowsky’s Portage team went 25-0 and won the WIAA Class B state title.
