MAILBAG: Believers supposed to worry for others

This is in response to Rebecca Watter's letter dated Oct. 9. I do not believe she responded to the Scriptures I presented in a letter I had written about Tammy Baldwin and sodomy.

Her letter states that she is worried more about the Constitution and having a different view somehow shoved down her throat. The true church is tired of sodomy being pushed into our society. It is the Bible view that will save you, but you openly reject it. The Constitution allows me to present Scripture anywhere and especially in a newspaper.

Your opinion offers no hope or salvation to anyone, including yourself. The only spiritual truth a person receives is having living faith in the blood of Christ Jesus. The Lord can then fill you with his Holy Ghost and salvation. The true Christian will follow God and holiness. This comes from taking the whole counsel of God and not leaving parts out.

Psalm 33:10 says, "The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought," or nothing. Heathen are people who do not believe the whole counsel of God. They are rebellious against God and his church.

Psalm 33:11 says, "The counsel of the Lord standeth forever." That counsel is the written word, and the Lord will help you to understand this if you believe. I follow the word in Christ, and that is what the church is supposed to do. Your use of a couple of Scripture quotes here and there, taken out of context, is why there are so many "man-made" religions today. It is now your own reasoning and not the Lord's way. You are inventing your own salvation, and this will not get you into eternity with God.

I had presented Scripture about sodomy. The Bible states it is sin and evil. Again, God hates it, and he will judge it. A Christian has the right to preach the word in its entirety.

Answer the Scriptures I presented in Romans 1 and Genesis 19 of my first letter and stick to debating only the Scripture. The Bible says to study to show thyself approved of God and to rightly divide the word of truth. It is the Scripture that will lead you to a better place in life and open your eyes.

A believer is supposed to worry about the souls of others. That is why the Christian needs to preach the truth to these people. If the truth isn't given, they don't have a chance to repent and serve a living savior. Half-truths help no one and are really nothing more than a lie. As I said in my last letter, and I say to all, "Let's get with it."
