Robert S. Jones

POYNETTE - Robert S. Jones, 70, of Poynette, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at his home in Poynette, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born July 8, 1939, in Pasadena, Calif., son of William S. Jones and Margaret E. Fairchild Jones. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1961. Bob married Barbara Prucha on July 30, 1966. He retired from Research Products in Poynette and served as a member of the Poynette-Dekorra Fire Department for 26 years and the Poynette-Dekorra EMS for 10 years. He was active in the Poynette Garden Club and Poynette American Legion and was a member of the Alhambra, Calif., Masonic Lodge.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara of Poynette; two daughters, Robin (Chris) McNicol of Poynette and Wendy (Michael) Schill of Arlington; two grandchildren, Ethan and Hannah McNicol; his sister, Shirley (Jerry) Klein of Tumwater, Wash.; his sister-in-law, Dolores Lake of Poynette; his brother-in-law, Jerome Prucha of Poynette; other relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home, Poynette. Military honors will be held at the funeral home Monday. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
