PORTAGE - Evelyn Cybulski, age 94, formerly of the Packwaukee area, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage.
Evelyn was born Nov. 12, 1914, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Patrick and Leona (Schlieve) Hughes. In August 1934, she married Walter Bean. They lived in the Montello and Packwaukee area, where they owned and operated the Chateau Tavern. Evelyn was well-known for making "the best chili and hamburgers around." She also sponsored a bowling team and enjoyed bowling. In 1975, she married Adam Cybulski and moved back to Milwaukee. She lived there for a short time and returned to Packwaukee.
Evelyn is survived by children Sherman (Shirley) Bean of Huntley, Ill., Judy Dalton of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Sharon (Kenneth) Labrenz of Oxford; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Harvey) Neuendorf of Neillsville; a son-in-law, Jack Dalton of Zion, Ill.; a daughter in law, Patricia Dencker of Sun Prairie; a special nephew, Charles Neuendorf; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, Richard; and a grandson, S. Keith Bean.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Christian Ronalds officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Oxford Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
