Assistant Chief Kevin O’Neill of the Portage Police Department prepares to arrest “perp” Sgt. Brian Fehd during a training exercise Monday at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in Portage. The department started a series of ongoing training exercises last week and will continue into next week. “Every year we have this kind of training to keep us in tune,” O’Neill said. “Everybody goes through it.” In this scenario, the officers were on an attempt-to-locate call with Fehd playing the role of a man suspected in a domestic dispute and possibly armed.
